Silk Roads 4: How did emperors and violence spread the peace of Christianity?

This enquiry focuses on the growth of the Christian faith and its spread through the old world.

It delves into the tale of Constantine,  the Roman persecution of Christians under the emperor Nero and the fall of the Roman Empire.

It provides a nice counterpoint to the story of Islam studied in the previous enquiry with many interesting and nuanced links to be drawn out.

It also dwells on why two historian’s view the importance of Constantine differently by looking at the interpretations of Mary Beard and Peter Frankopan.
