What do I get for Full membership?

Full access to download ALL of our lesson enquiries.  Just click on the ‘Member’s Download’ button on the lesson page to download a .zip file which contains all the digital resources you need to teach the lesson – Power Point files, printable resources, worksheets and step by step lesson guides.

Like our lessons, these written by experienced working history teachers who want to share their tips, advise and opinions to help you improve and enhance your teaching skills. You’ll find ideas on teaching techniques as well as long term planning, assessment and progression.

What do I get for Schools membership?

Schools membership offers the same content as Full membership above, but an individual school or history department can opt to receive an invoice. Upon payment, your membership will be activated and you will have access to all our lesson enquiries, teaching issues and ideas articles and other benefits.

What do I get for Basic membership?

Download our 20 introductory lessons from a range of history topics. The .zip files contain all the digital resources you need to teach the lesson and are a great taster of what you can expect from History Resource Cupboard.

Like our lessons, these articles are written by experienced working history teachers who want to share their tips, advise and opinions to help you improve and enhance your teaching skills. What will I be able to download in future?

New lesson ideas, teaching resources or full lesson enquiries are added to the site every month, so you will always have new resources to draw on to keep your teaching fresh and original.

Are the lessons compatible with the new GCSE curriculum?

We cover many options for the 9-1 GCSEs for nearly all of the exam boards.

How long does membership last for?

One year.

Can I upgrade from Basic to Full or Schools membership?

Of course, you can upgrade at any time to get all the benefits of Full or Schools membership.

Do I have to be a member to download lessons?

No – you can purchase lessons individually on a pay-as-you-go basis. Just click on ‘Add to basket’ on an individual lesson page and you can purchase the lesson with a credit card or PayPal through the secure Payloadz digital shopping system.

Can I cancel my membership and get a refund?

You can cancel your membership at any time but we do not offer a refund. Our free Basic membership option gives you the chance to try 10 introductory lessons to see if History Resource Cupboard lessons fit your needs. If a download is faulty and we can’t provide a replacement, we will of course refund you the full price of the lesson. See our terms and conditions for more information.

Do you disclose, sell or rent my information to unaffiliated third parties?

No – please see our privacy policy for more details.

Can I keep teaching using downloaded lessons after my membership has expired?

Yes, once you have downloaded lessons or resources you can keep teaching with them as long as you comply with our terms and conditions. You will not be able to download new lessons or see members-only articles unless membership is renewed. You can purchase lessons individually on a pay-as-you-go basis anytime.

What type of payment do you accept?

You can pay for downloads and membership online using all major credit cards through our secure PayPal payment system. If your school would like to raise a purchase order, request an invoice, pay by cheque or BACS payment, then register here.

What software do I need to use the lessons and resources I have downloaded?

Our our digital resources are downloaded as compressed .zip files which are supported by most browsers and operating systems. The digital resources held within them are Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint files. For PDF files, you can download Adobe Acrobat DC here for free. In some lessons audio files are provided in MP3 format. If you encounter any problems using these formats, please contact us and we’ll try to provide an alternative.

Can I share lessons I have downloaded?

Downloaded resources can only be used by the individual member or within the school or department registered. Please contact us to discuss licensing wider or multiple use of our resources. For more details see our terms and conditions.
