There will be an increased focus on how well literacy is delivered across the curriculum in Ofsted’s regime from 2012.

History can make a massive contribution to literacy. You could use the questions suggested for inspectors to check that you have literacy well covered – or if you need to adapt your practice at all. I hope you find it helpful.
