Migration 25: What impact did migrants have on British life and society?

This enquiry focuses on the varied and brilliant ways in which migration has changed British life and culture.

This happened in many ways, from the opening of Italian cafes and restaurants, to the building of beautiful synagogues and the establishment of high-street stores like Marks & Spencer.

Students first gather information about the different ways in which migrants changed the face of Britain. Then  they apply this new knowledge to the creation of a ‘mural’ that commemorates the impact of migrants and migration.

An engaging and creative lesson that celebrates all that migrant culture has done to enrich life in Britain.
