This lesson allows students to investigate the events of the Cuban Missiles Crisis at the height of the Cold War in 1962 by using a decision making activity.

This lesson allows students to investigate the events of the Cuban Missiles Crisis by using a decision making activity. Working in teams of three, students examine the problems facing President Kennedy during the 1962 crisis.

They are required to reach supported conclusions based upon a real appreciation of the international situation at the time.

It can be used equally for Year 9 students or as an introduction to the topic for 9-1 students studying the Cuban Missile Crisis.

This lesson can also be used at Key Stage 3.
