From “Your horse has diabetes” to Al Capone and police corruption, the reasons for the failure of Prohibition are many and varied. This lesson fits neatly into any Scheme of Work on the America in the 1920’s and will work equally well on a GCSE course.
The lesson uses a range of activities including film, card sorts and kinaesthetic activities to enable students to not only explore the reasons for the failure of prohibition but also to develop and practise key examination skills.
