Was the English Civil War significant?

UPDATED FOR 2020

We have worked out how to teach this difficult topic for you. That is what collaborative planning does! High in thinking and low in writing, we have created a clever way to get across the significance of the English Civil War.

The aim of this lesson is for students to use a set of criteria in order to evaluate the Significance of the English Civil War.

They will then be given an opportunity to apply their understanding of the significance criteria by evaluating the coverage of the significance of this event by an internet help page.

Note: This lesson really should be taught after students have spent some time studying the causes of the English Civil War.
