Depending whether you teach AQA or Edexcel, you will enquiry at this question in the same way using resources that suit your particular specification.

Students read a reconstruction of an entertaining day spent in London in 1588. This story  is written through the eyes of a rich chap.

They use the information to help them make up their own mind – was this really a cultural Golden Age or simply a myth deliberately spread by Elizabeth’s propaganda machine and nostalgic writers ever since?
